Jamie Whincup

Jamie Whincup debuted his racing career in 2003 with Garry Rogers Motorsport; Garth Tander was Jamie’s first teammate in 2003. During his first year he had his first accident at Hidden Valley in car 33 in Race 2, between turn 6 and 7. Jamie had to be towed out of the sand trap while the safety car was in place, and was unable to finish this race, but was able to resume his campaign the next day in Race 3.

Garry Rogers likes to give the young guys a go for example, Jamie Whincup, Jason Bargwanna, Garth Tander and Steven Richards.

In 2004 Jamie changed camps and drove for Larry Perkins Motorsport.  In 2005 Jamie drove for Tasman Motorsport and also paired up with Jason Richards for the Sandown 500 and the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, after his 2 brilliant results at Sandown and Bathurst, he was picked up by Roland Dane owner of Team Betta Electrical Triple eight race engineering driving the new Betta Electrical Ford with Craig Lowndes.

Jamie has been with Craig Lowndes and Roland Danes ever since and had a lot of success whether he has been driving a Ford or a Holden.
